Cookies and similar tools store or read information on your device. This page explains what the Poodles and Parrots website uses and how you can change your choice.
Required cookies
- Rails session cookie supports the site session, sign-in, cart, and form security. It lasts for the browser session.
- analytics_consent remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional usage analytics. It expires after six months.
- remember_user_token keeps you signed in only when you select that option. It lasts for up to two weeks.
- Stripe security cookies may be used on the cart and Stripe Checkout pages to prevent fraud and secure payment. Stripe may use names such as
__stripe_mid,__stripe_sid, andm. Stripe controls their exact use and duration. Read Stripe's current cookie list.
Optional usage analytics
Usage analytics sets these first-party cookies only after you accept analytics:
- ahoy_visit links requests in a visit. It expires after four hours.
- ahoy_visitor links visits from the same browser. It expires after six months.
- ahoy_track marks a visit for server-side analytics. It lasts for the browser session.
Usage analytics measures visits and blog post views. We mask IP addresses and do not send them to an external geolocation service. You can reject analytics or withdraw consent at any time.
Embedded content and external services
The podcast page uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced player. YouTube may receive your IP address and device details when the player loads. YouTube may use cookies or similar storage when you play a video.
Our newsletter sign-up link opens a form hosted by Kit. Kit may use cookies on its own site after you open that form. Google Fonts also receives a request when your browser loads the website font files. See our Privacy Policy for details about these providers.
Change your choice
Your analytics choice stays saved for six months. To change it sooner, use Cookie settings in the site footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Sign-in, cart, or checkout features may not work if you block required cookies.
